Memphis, Tennessee — October 17, 2025 — Fight fans packed the Agricenter on Saturday
night as Martin “Layem Down” Brown delivered an impressive performance, stopping Manny
Woods in the fourth round of a scheduled six-round bout to capture the World Boxing Nation
(WBN) Intercontinental Title. The action-packed event was presented by Elite Promotions,
showcasing high-caliber talent and strong local support for Memphis boxing.
Brown, weighing in at 165 pounds, established his rhythm early behind a disciplined jab,
controlling the distance and pace while looking sharp from the opening bell. Under the
guidance of his head coach Monyette Flowers, Brown stayed composed and attentive to
instructions between rounds, executing the game plan with patience and precision.
His opponent, Manny Woods (164 pounds), displayed toughness and ring experience,
absorbing several powerful shots while remaining competitive and determined to push the
fight deep. But as the rounds unfolded, Brown began investing in a relentless body attack that
gradually wore Woods down.
By the fourth round, Brown’s sustained pressure and accuracy proved too much. Following a
well-timed flurry, the referee stepped in to halt the contest, awarding Brown the TKO victory
and the WBN Intercontinental Championship.
With this win, Brown now joins the official WBN rankings, positioning himself for future
opportunities to compete for the World Boxing Nation World Title. The event marked another
successful night for Elite Promotions, continuing its commitment to developing fighters and
bringing world-class boxing action to the Mid-South region.
